So i was at roundtop earlier tonight and my gf was talking to me about rotating my 08 cartel's highbacks (idr why it came up).
With my +15/-9 setup, i was hesitant, but i decided to go ahead.
I felt a moderate difference when carving, but that might have been in my head.
I never really mess with anything on my bindings except the angles and highback lean(conservative adjustments).
The highback looks like it fits nicely into the heelcup area(w/e its called) when original rotation, which was before i touched them. Now it seems off-center, which i realize cause i rotated them to align with my heel edge. But my question is, does rotating the highback have any negative effect on the binding itself, or on my feet/calf?
If my feet are parallel to the binding, where theres a boot-shaped hole lol, wouldn't changing the highback where the boot rests mess with weight/power distribution, or something?? Cause the highback is shipped to nicely fold into the space where the boot goes, so the back of the boot can rest there. Idk, it just seemed awkward to me, but I had a great day carving the mountain; far from last week's PERFECT EAST COAST snowday* at liberty.

I personally, do not use highback rotation. Some people swear by it to help with heelside power. I find that when I tried it, I honestly did`nt notice anything. As for how the hichback fits into the heel hoop, as long as the forward lean shim sits solidly on the hoop, you will be fine.
