yeah i never acually used a stomp pad or anything. I never liked how they covered the graphics and such. So i found out about the metal Studs that i am going to pick up probably next season since this one is pretty much over. Michigan sucks ass this year.

me and my bf have always used stomp designs pads, and we've never had an issue with them falling off. did you clean off your board with rubbing alcohol before attaching the stomp?

I've actually dealt with this, and while searching for another adhesive, I asked the guys on my forum for some help (although, little was had, lol)

I used the Dakine 'cross' metal studs, and put them on my brand bew board (w/o using the alcohol), but I neglected the fact that the board probably had all sorts of mould-release on it, so they all fell off, one-by-one as the day went on (I managed to get them all, and put them in my pocket tho)...

this is the stuff you wanna use;

they have a long line of "Goop" products, but its all the same, just in a different tube!!! lol... you wanna make sure you sand the back of the bits down a bit, and use alcohol (I had 'wipes') to thoroughly clean everything off... cleaning is as important as the actual bonding. Also note that using this stuff will bond the stomper on PERMANENTLY.

here's my "results" post;

Before; (why i bought these retarded stompers to begin with...kewl graphic)

After;

I guess when it fully cures in a few days i might go in with an exacto knife and trim the excess goop off... it'd be really messy to try that now...

get some of these little guys at Home Depot

Doesn't matter what brand. They come in packs of like 12-16. They are the little rubber things you put under glass to keep it from slipping.

They stick like crazy, and provide great traction, and you can hardly notice them.

Did i mention they cost about $2

my friend had a problem with his burton stomp pad falling off. i have a dakine stomp pad that is clear, it didn't look all that clear out of the package, but once i put it on my board i can barely see it. it doesn't block the graphic on my top sheet at all. if your pad is falling off, try heating up the adhesive and your board with a hair dryer before putting it on. i did that and i think i would need a crowbar to get my pad off.

FWIW, I did clean my board off before applying mine, but in searching around for adhesive recommendations I also ran across the suggestion to heat up the pad with a hair dryer before applying. Burton added making sure the board was at room temp and letting it cure for >24, neither of which were an issue with my first attempt but are worth mentioning.

At any rate, Burton is sending me another, so kudos to them for that. I'll go through all the steps mentioned this time and see how it holds up... I also came very close to sticking it back on with a silicone adhesive, but chickened out as it seems it's very difficult to remove that residue once it cures. I'm still not quite committed enough to making this 100% permanent. :-)

Will still add a pad or studs when I see ones I like, but am not really in a major rush...
I'm with you on that one. I find that anything I stick to the top of my board, especially in between my bindings will take away from the awesomeness that is my snowboard lol. If you're not doing one legged riding and instructing like snowolf, just pop off the chairlift, strap in early and bounce around everywhere
