the Union Force is a way better binding. You guys need to get off Rome's nuts for a second and realize that their bindings are straight jank. they are pretty much like Ride bindings from about 6 years ago.

I have size 9 feet with Salomon Synapse boots. The Salomon boot tend to have a lower profile. I have the L/XL 390's and have no problems with them. Anything less and I would go with the s/m.

Eh depends on the boot. I've noticed that with a size 11 in them I had to max the heel cup out to the hole for the size 14's in the lg/xl.

Pretty funny statement since Ride uses a non unibody design with a composite base and aluminum heel cup. Ride uses full aluminum and has since they started and bragged about how great it is, and are now stuck using it because of all the stuff they've used. Why someone would put a material that resonates energy right into your foot is beyond me, let alone a compenant that is significantly weaker to flexibility movements than plastic.

Union makes some ok bindings if you like a highback that will fold on you.

First of all that didnt make too much sense there buddy. You told me two contrading statements about Ride bindings. What does this mean " Ride uses full aluminum and has since they started and bragged about how great it is, and are now stuck using it because of all the stuff they've used." I'm lost on that one. Back to Rome for a second... whats up with the toe strap... is that paper mache or what? or maybe it is Styrofoam. Whatever it is... it is super cheesy. Anyway, Union bindings use a full Extruded Anodized aluminum heelcup which is stronger than both Ride and Rome, and the Highback is Dupont Zytel... the same stuff that is used for the whole intake manifold of the PT Cruiser as well as other random things that require super strong and lightweight materials. And you say they fold? What are Rome highbacks made from? Plus Union uses magnesium ratchets which is lighter than aluminum and stronger than titanium. What does Rome use? I mean come on BA, i dont question that you know your stuff, but how can you argue against Union and for Rome. Its ridiculous.

i retract my statement, so if i could get the union forces for 99 bucks, is it worth it over spending the 130 or so for the 390s? Is the performance comparable?

I wouldn't even think twice about it. They are comparable products, and Rome still does make a decent binding, but compared to the Union Force i think they are inferior is just about every aspect. Even in value.
