you know that i HATE you right now! ok just kidding but definitely jealous. though mine is the FOCUS, i'm sure it would ride the the same on any terrain. as you said for the price we paid for it ($118) it was a steal! I am happy to know that it was a great purchased.

There is a lot to hate!! Every resort in the state was closed except one near Canada. The boards and gear were packed up. We were ready for summer. We may never snowboard again in MN in the lower part of the state on April 13. True bonus day

As a result, my son took out his new Status UNO 151 that he received 4 days ago. He was using his limited edition Air Blaster Union Bindings. The bindings make a pretty cool package with this board. See below Due to the surprise opening at the resort there were some unusual conditions for the Midwest. None of the runs were groomed or tracked. The resort had 10 inches of fresh powder on every run We have only been snowboarding for a year so this was the first powder we have ever seen.

My son rode the board for 6 hours and I took it on one run. The board had great float and was very easy to ride in the powder even for a first timer. I was a little surprised by it's flexibility.

I think the biggest thing we noticed was the speed this board has in all the conditions we rode. It just takes off like it has a motor. One of the first runs my son took he just flew down. I took the same line after him and I got bogged down in powder clumps. After the run I was pretty shocked at how fast he hit the same line. We paid $118.00 for this board during the recent Status spring blow out. For the price I cannot believe the performance. You can't get a store brand board for that price.
If you don't mind me asking, how much do you and your son weigh?

He weighs 140 and is 5' 5". He has a 10 1/2 foot. I ride a 157 so this is 6cm too short for me. I weigh 200. I am also 5' 5" with a size 8 foot.

I have ridden very few boards and do not know much about board tech. But, this board is supposed to be a Never Summer SL knock off. It is really impressive for the price.

What was the flex like and the weight of the board?

The board is extremely light. The entire package from UPS weighed 6 pounds. We were a little surprised by the flex of the board. Although both of us have been riding very stiff boards. It is definitely not a noodle. As I mentioned, we had some unusual conditions here last week. There was 10 inches of powder, some hard pack, powder in the woods, slush and semi packed runs to bomb. The board performed great in all these conditions. He loved it. He did not hit the park but I see no issue there.

Returned from two weeks on the road for work and opened up my 2012 Status Uno.

Initial build quality impressions are good. The Uno is a lot flexier than I expected. I put on some Ride EXs. Hoping to try out soon with a final trip of the season.

If anyone has experience with the Never Summer SL and the Uno I'd be very interested to hear how it compares.

I guess I am not the only one that thought it was pretty flexible.

It was softer than I first expected longitudinal but not by too much. Torsionally it was way softer than I anticipated but it made turn initiation super fast.
