Hey ive been looking at a couple colleges for next year and I was wondering if anyone could tell me about the riding near boulder colorado as well as spokane and seattle washington. I know colorado is kick ass but I mean I dont really know anything execpt than those big name resorts. What other options do I have? I also might get into UC davis which is much closer to lake Tahoe (where I usually go snowboarding) than where I live now. Which do you think is the best bet (Davis, Spokane, Seattle or Boulder)??
Thanks -Kyle |

I go to CU Boulder and I love it. I used to live in Washington and the thought of living in Spokane isn't too appealing to me :P If you can handle 8 months of rain, maybe Seattle is for you but fuck that.
Closest place to go snowboarding to Boulder is Eldora near Nederland. ~35 minute drive. There's a free bus (with student ID card) that goes up there once every hour during the day, definitely get a snowboard bag though. They freak out on you if you get on a city bus with a board w/o a bag. They sell season passes to Eldora early in the school year for $130. Lift ticket is ~$60 full/$50 half. The next closest place is A-Basin/Loveland I think. About ~1.5hr - 2hr drive. If you live here and have the cash, it's definitely worth getting a pass. Personally I have an EPIC Pass which is good for A-Basin/Keystone/Breckenridge/Vail/Beaver Creek/Heavenly for $630. There's a cheaper one for Winter Park/Copper Mountain but I'm not too sure on the pricing for that.. There's a ski/snowboard club at CU too. Membership is like $60 for 5 years or $35 for 1. They do a lot of trips that are relatively inexpensive. Definitely worth checking out. Boulder Freeride: The Ski and Snowboard Club @ CU If you have any other questions, let me know. |
