Default n00b in Mt Hood

Hey all. I'm a n00b. I'm going to be snowboarding for the first time Feb 20-23 on Mt Hood. My roommate's brother runs the hostel and we're staying cheap over there.

I longboard regularly so hopefully this trip won't kick my ass too badly. Anyway there's four of us so far who will be in from Phoenix and boarding all weekend with old friends and hopefully some new ones.

So if you're in the area and know all the cool spots hit me up and I'll hope to see you on the slopes!

First off, um noob is an acceptable term to me. Welcome to the board and Oregon, soon.

I don't plan that far in advanced, but if the weather gets better around here, and by better I mean colder, I'll probably be up there as well. Any specific place you're going to? I usually hit Skibowl on tuesday night with my wife because of ladies night. T-line is pretty cool, but a little flat. I'm hoping to try Meadows soon, but it's a bit too pricey for me right now.

Anyways, maybe I'll see you up there. Enjoy Hood.

I will most likely be at Skibowl for some night riding and Meadows during the day. It just depends on where we're able to get free lift tickets to, if any. I planned this trip to coincide with my tax refund either way.

And as far as the n00b comment bigL, if your that confrontational over a word used in a non-traditional context, you're not smoking enough.

I was just at Meadows this weekend. Absolutely loved it. Having a local to guide us around (a friend from Portland) def helped. We went everywhere and hit all the parks. Did the entire mountain.

Well your not gonna be there on weekdays really but Timberline has buy 1 get 1 free day passes M-F with an REI membership card(and ID to prove its yours).
Skibowl also has big discounts on day passes for REI members.
Considering its like 20 bucks for a lifetime REI membership i think if you only go a few times a year out here in the PNW its probably the best deal. Makes lift tickets like 26 per person rather than 56 or whatever it is regularly.

I've yet to go to t-line I only hit up ski bowl, but you'll def have a good time there as well. Plus I think the lift tickets are around $30 for a day pass not sure though but still it's not as much as t-line
