Freeride in Canada

Hey!

I'm a french guy, in Vancouver this year. I think about taking a one week break to go snowboarding.
I go to cypress every week but i'd like a place with a lot of fresh powder.
Where are the best places for the freeride?
What about the rockies?

Thanks

Definitely stay in BC - AB Rockies not worth the drive right now. I'd hit up anywhere in the interior BC, perhaps big white, silver star, or one of the smaller ones, they all have good freeriding.

The snow's coming this week. FINALLY.
If you want to stay local, you can't go wrong with Whistler. It is one of the best resorts in North americs and it's only a 2 hour drive away. Us Vancouverites are quite spoiled. The freeriding there is unbeatable if you get it on a good day, or even on a bad day.
Baker has some decent freeriding but I wouldn't go there unless there is fresh snow. That's only 2 hours from Vancouver as well. There isn't much for accomodation there though but lift tickets are much cheaper than whistler and there aren't any crowds.
The interior kicks ass, The snow is nice and light and it's much cheaper than Whistler. The mountains are big enough and there aren't too big crowds to worry about either. I prefer Big white

Thanks for the answers.
So apparently Big White seems to be the good place for me. If the snow is lighter than whistler it's ok for me. (And the snow is so heavy in cypress...)
Do you know till when i can go there with good conditions and when is the end of the season?

Big White closes mid April, Whistler closes early June.
The condidtions right now are the best they've been since December. Head up now if you can. I'll be going up to Big White this Weekend.
I couldn't tell you how long the snow will be good for because this has been a wierd year. Last year the closing day was a nice powder day with at least 10cm's of fresh stuff. Other years there's barely enough snow on the ground to get down the hill.
The snow's almost always heavy at Cypress, Seymour, Grouse, get used to it.
