Aloha from Hawaii
I am taking wife and the kids to a snowboarding trip to North Lake Tahoe over spring break. My son is bringing 2 friends who have no winter clothes. We'll be driving from San Francisco and were hoping somebody can recomend some places where we might be able to find cheap 2nd hand stuff. We'll be there for 1 week. Thanks for all your help. |

its tahoe. there will be shops all around the lake running killer deals since its so late in the season. unfortunatly, you still probably wont want to pay that much...
your best bet for used gear in this area is hands down is craigslist classifieds: jobs, housing, personals, for sale, services, community, events, forums a TON of people in the reno/tahoe area use the craigslist. just retrospecting myself, ive gotten everything from my gnu CHB board to my jeep off the c-list. |

Thanks for the response. We've been buying some stuff online (ebay) and plan on stopping at a thrifty store in SF.
We don't get to snowboard that often (1 trip/year if we are lucky). This is our second year in a row. I've been surfing for 25+ years and snowboarded for the first time in 92. Last year was the first time we got some consistent practice, 7 days in the mountain at Whistler. I am finally starting to fell comfortable and can't wait to go back to lake tahoe. Aloha... |

Sierra Snowboard is in Sacramento (more or less at the 80/50 split) and is having some stupid sales right now. 50% everything.
you can buy online and pick it up in store.
