Mammoth in May? - Snowboarding Forum

Hi, I was at Mammoth 2 weeks ago and had a blast. I want to go back again, but with my busy schedule the earliest that I can go is the first week of May.

Question: Is there any snow left around this time of the year? Typically how long does the season last at Mammoth?

There should be plenty of snow in May. Resort operations will probably be winding down. Not sure how late into the season Mammoth will stay open. They don't have the day traffic that Tahoe gets. You might want to check with them on their planned closing dates.

I've read somewhere else that Mammoth tries to stay open until July 4th, so you are probably good.

last year they closed on July 4.

I got a response from them:

We plan on keeping Mammoth open until Memorial Day. However, only the Main lodge will be open at that time as Canyon and Eagle lodges close on April 19.
