I'm thinking about hitting Snowbird, UT first weekend of May for a long weekend. Anybody out in Utah? Any prediction what the conditions will be like then? I know that they have a ton of snow right now.
Suggestions on where to stay for cheap? Discounted lift tickets? Thanks, MDC |

right now they are saying they will go to weekends only on may 10th ... thats subject to change obviously and was the date given before this weeks band of storms that have given us another 4-5 feet.
as far as pricing... it depends how long you stay.. the bird is 72 a day i believe but they also have a spring pass for 280 so if you are looking at riding for a week it may benefit you to actually buy a pass .. just a thought. i am not sure if theres any type of locals only restrictions on the pass you can check their website there is a super 8 motel in the area that a few others on this site have stayed at. ive heard it described as kinda meh at least not expensive. its just afew miles from the mouth of the canyon and located around a wide variety of dining including national/local fast food and national sit down restaurants. the adress is roughly fort union blvd and 9th east |

I was out there March 9th-12th and stayed at the Super 8 in Midvale. It wasn't too bad, cheap, free breakfast, and 24 hour hot tub. You can also get lift tickets at the front desk for $59 a day for any of the 4 SLC Resorts (Brighton, Solitude, Snowbird, and Alta). They load a pass for you and you can ride the ski bus to and from the resorts for free.
