Anyone been to Mammoth in the last couple of weeks? I can pretty much deduce what conditions will be, but I'm curious what weekend crowds are like. Since they seem to be running 35% - 40% of their terrain, I'm worried about it being packed, and can't decide if it's worth the 4.5 hour drive. FWIW, I'm not a park guy, so late season jib sessions aren't my shtick.

I just got back from Squaw. Minimal lines. Not crowded at all. And $20 lift tickets yesterday! I can't imagine people flocking to Mammoth, being located in central sierras, on the weekends.
The last time I went a bartender told me 90% are from Southern California. Most of them are probably at the beach now. Last edited by snowdog; 04-27-2009 at 07:09 PM. |

Was there from 4/10-4/13, great condition, Canyon lodge was a little slushy in the afternoon but the top was great, powder from the top, Dave's run, Scotty's, Cornice were all pretty nice, not really all that busy even on a Easter weekend.
