Week off after thanksgiving and dont know where to go!

Hey everyone, I have the week off after thanksgiving and was looking for places to go. I live in PA but will drive/fly to wherever. Just wondering what all you would recommend. I was thinking of Stowe, Killington, or somewhere in Colorado. Heres the kicker, with working for the US Department of Defense I can get to use the Armed forces Vacation Club and stay at any of their resorts for 329 per week. So with price being the same for anywhere in the US and World for that matter, Give me some ideas!!!! Thanks in advance!

Colorado is probably going to be your best bet. At that time of year everyone, including Colorado is just getting going. So don't expect fantastic conditions. Colorado has the higher altitude and colder temps that allow for snow making to get started back in October while everyone else is still waiting for it to get cold enough to make snow. So a lot of runs will be open by then just based on the snow making. Throw in a few good storms and you can have anywhere from 50-80% of the mountain opening by then. The last two years the first week of December has been great. I've also seen plenty of season where December sucks though.

Hood would be another spot to consider. The glacier is open year round and if they get some storms, things could be very good.

hey our start on the EC last year wasnt too bad, as i remember our trail counts were higher for like a week mid-november when they opened, then your storms started up and you were killing fresh pow deeper than our march snowpack probably

Vail opening day is Nov. 20th so I assume the other resorts should be opening around the same time?

Come to CO!
