New Trip?

Hi guys,

I am trying to recover from some health problems. I haven't ridden in a few years. been riding a total about 20 years. I used to live in Utah and have ridden Wyoming, Tahoe, and Whistler. I am looking to get back out west this year.

Any advice on an inexpensive trip, under a grand for 7 days. We have gone to Salt Lake a lot and just gotten a cheap motel in the past and rental car. Another option is flying to Vancouver and taking shuttle to Whistler. Maybe Revelstoke? Seattle? You guys find it cheaper to stay at a resort or get a rental car? Tahoe?

Thanks for any advice. I appreciate the help all!

Whistler has the Olympics this year so it probably won't be cheap and will likely have crowds.

In all honesty you sort of nailed it with Salt Lake. You can stay in town for cheap and lift ticket deals are easy to come by there. Though I personally don't want to live there, you get a lot of traveling bang for you buck in Salt Lake. Compared to just about any where else (Tahoe, Colorado, Whistler) you save a ton of money. If you know the area I'd say go for it. Plus Jackson isn't that far away either.

I recently discovered that Bachelor in Oregon is quite cheap too - tho I'm not sure about plane tickets, since we drove. Hotels in Bend were like $70 a night (or less if you're willing to sleep someplace super crappy) and the lift ticket prices beat anywhere in CO or Utah. Or if you have lots of people - I've stayed in a 4 bedroom house in Sun River that was like $180/night.

Good luck
