Default Mammoth conditions this weekend for resurfaced board?

Hey guys. Haven't logged in in years! Anyway, I plan to goto Mammoth this weekend (4/11-4/12).

I JUST had my main board (old Slayblade) completely tuned (base, edges, ptex, etc.) for summer storage.

They're reporting 10"+ of new snow tonight.

Will conditions this weekend (newish pow on top of whatever spring base underneath) leave my board in decent shape? Or should I take my alternate board? I don't plan to go off trail at all like I normally would (or should I....)

Thanks!

Yup! Took out the Slayblade and had a great time!

Question: I wanna go again before the season ends! I need to choose between this weekend or next weekend. Given the current conditions, and it looks like mostly rain forecast for next week and some snow, which weekend will the snow be in better shape

I know how to keep up with Bear conditions but not sure which weather forecasts to trust for Mammoth and how it'll affect the mountain.

Thanks!

For example... does rain forecast at Mammoth Lakes translate to snow at McCoy Station and above? er? Or is it all rain...

Read Howard Scheckter's reports: Mammoth Lakes Weather brought to you by Howard Sheckter
According to him, hold out a bit and see how the weather turns out next week… as for your example if it rains in the lakes its usually somewhat wet snow at Mc Coy but it always depends on the current temps. Mammoths website is "usually" accurate. Hell they will post 0.3 inches of snow to there records.

Hold out and pray for some spring snow.

Thanks CERBERUS! This is exactly the kind of local weather blog I was looking for. Pray for snow!
