Talking Need Help With Japan!!!!

Hey guys im thinking bout heading over to japan next year in feb/march. Im looking to stay in tokyo for 3/4 nights then catch a train or whatever to the snow. I wanna do the trip on a bit of a budget and stay in a hostel. I'm from Australia but i wanna stay away from where heaps of foreigners go and get a more japanese experience, language barrier doesnt really bother me. This kind of rules out niseko cause i heard heaps of foreigners mainly aussies go there. I was thinkin nagano or niigata areas to stay.

This will be my third snow trip, ive done falls creek in aus and queenstown in NZ. So im not very experienced but im doin black runs and starting to messing around with butters and little 360's and hitting the grinds a bit... Just to give you an idea where im at with my riding

If anyone could shed any light on which place would be better and gimme some info on what to expect, snow wise, accommodation, nightlife and any problems to expect or share some personal experiences would be sick.

And if anyone is thinkin of heading there around that time feel free to let me know cause me and my mates keen to ride with new peeps/drinking buddies over there.

Cheers guys
Peace

Hokkaido is where the good stuff is and it's very far from tokyo. If you were planning on going to japan just to ride I would go straight to the north

I've gone a couple times to a place in Ishikawa prefecture. It's about an hour's drive from Komatsu...kinda far from Tokyo though, but there are NO foreigners over there because it's totally inaka (country-side). In Kansai I think there are some places around Lake Biwako (maybe close to Nagahama)
