Thoughts on Park City Area (The Canyons) on Sundance Week

Some friends and I recently decided we would go back to Utah for our annual snowboard trip. The problem or plus is, we decided to go on Sundance week/weekend. Has anyone ever been on this week? If so, what are your thoughts. Crowds? Traffic? Miserable? or Fun? Great Nightlife? Not too crowded at the Canyons? Also, how are the powder runs at the Canyons? I've heard great things about the 9990!

The Scoop on Park City during Sundance

Sundance week/weekend.

This is the biggest week fo the year in Park City. Tons of fun! and great nightlife. The slopes are empty, it's an awesome time to be on the snow - most Sundance attendees are not riding or skiing.

You'll find that crowds in the Park City bars and resturaunts are huge. Traffic and parking is an issue.

The Canyons is a huge resort - you'll love it. 9990 is great.

The biggest negative to visiting during Sundance is lodging costs are more than double the standard rate plus it's pretty hard to even find a room in town.

Good luck and Enjoy!!!

Ditto what he said. We were in the area and actually stayed about 45 minutes north near Powder Mountain & Snowbasin. Two of the three nights were spent driving into Park City and the Sundance crowds were fun. There were a ton of people around, and parking was a premium. However, it was worth the 45 min drive each way and we got a ton of riding in, too. If you want to save a few bucks, stay outside of PC and drive in. If want to be in where the action is, get the plastic or checkbook ready. Either way, have fun!
