Jay Peak?

Hi I'm planning a trip to Jay Peak this winter and was wondering what month you guys would recommend to go there. When are the conditions usually the best? I am really hoping for a nice powder day since I have never really snowboarded in more than a couple of inches. Also how cold does Jay Peak? From what Ive read it seems to be one of the cold and windiest mountains in New England. Any help would be appreciated.

Jay has no shortage of cold and wind. I would geeraly say to plan your trip for valentines day or shortly after. that tends to be when we get our biggest storm of the year. Ive put in days when its 30 below and windy and I like it because the lines are pretty short but for the most part that isnt what the weather is like. If youre really hoping for a powder day the best bet is probably to watch the weather and plan it out a week in advance when you see some monster snow on the forecast. The wind is pretty strong a lot of the time but that just means that the snow is blown into the trees and the trees are what Jay Peak is for.
