Nor I...and I've been here over 7 years now. However, many restaurants offer fried codfish testicles. I've chose not to participate.

Most of the "wasabi" served (either here or the U.S.) isn't real. This is...obviously...although again the first time I've seen it that way. It is definitely better. When you dissolve wasabi in shoyu, the real stuff nearly instantly dissolves. The fake stuff takes a bit of stirring.

as a chef....i knew what u were talking about before i clicked the link...and knew what it was before reading ....and yes as mentioned real wasabi in the US is unheard of ..but it is by far the only way to have wasabi....

I'm told they're growing it in the west now...we'll see. I've had some passable U.S. sake...who knows?
