Default stowe - 30% mlk discount = not crowded?

saw that stowe is offering a 30% discount over MLK weekend at the inn at the mountain.

is this just me, or does that mean that the crowds might be a lot less than expected? the fact that they have to offer such a steep discount for what should be a peak weekend, right?

or is that just wishful thinking?

I'd say wishful thinking, I'm told mlk weekend is a busy one up here, sunday being the busiest day. I'm guessing it was getting down to the wire and they weren't fully booked, prob. because people found cheaper places to stay.

If stowe wasn't such an over-priced ski mountain, i'd move up there just for the riding, but its the most expensive place in New England.

$89 bones is steep, but stowe is pretty epic'y ... or maybe i am biased from the awesome day with no crowds and pow we happened upon last season, dead inn on the mountain, i mean nobody, cuz it was all melting, so we even scored a shuttle in a benzo suv right to the gondola door ... free special treatment, must be nice for those celebs that get it all the time

ok im off topic ... this weekend is gonna be BLACK-FRIDAY BUSY ... but black friday shoppers know how to shop, but half these skiers and boarders will not know how to STOP, just keep an open eye and treat them like race gates

not to mention conditions arent great. was in the 30's today, had some rain at the base and snow up top, so its gonna be icy as hell and I dont think there is snow in the forecast this weekend. Wait if you can.
