Hello,
I'm considering a trip to Salt Lake City to board Brighton, Alta & Snowbird for a week and will be renting a car. Do I need to have chains on the rental car to get up through both Little & Big Cottonwood Canyon or are the road pretty easy to drive through with chains? I'll mostly likely be staying in downtown SLC at the Plaza Hotel near Temple Square. Thanks for your help. |

They are pros at keeping those roads drivable despite there being so much goddamn snow. If it gets bad you can always hop on a shuttle (or hitchhike). A normal car should be fine, chains aren't needed.
