Probably about the same as your local hill. Actually I don't know - I've never been to that resort in OH. But I have been to Winterplace a bunch. It's not bad, but it's not great either. It can get very crowded on weekends, especially during the day. If you wait it out until night, the crowds usually thin out nicely. I have not been there this year, but their park historically seems to be lacking (i.e. very small with not a lot of features) when compared to other resorts (and I'm not a park guy). The runs are fairly short. Always lot of beginners and church groups.

I mean, it was me I wouldnt go out of my way to go there. My buddy got back from there a couple weeks back and said there was some 3+ft/waist deep pow. Im only like 3hrs away...i dunno, its ok i reckon. Just some nice casual riding.

Dark Series FTW!

You're in luck - I have actually been to Peek n' Peak. I would say they are pretty similar resorts. I'm usually at Peek around Christmas but the snow is usually better there than at Winterplace. Winterplace is very icy....always. Granted we have had a lot of natural snow this season which has probable helped out this season.

Anyway, PnP and Winterplace are a lot in common except how the each resort is laid out. PnP is kind of "wide" but Winterplace is "long" - you have to take two lift rides to get to the main top at Winterplace. And Winterplace has always been more crowded than PnP. If both locations were the same distance from me, I would probably choose PnP. Snowshoe is wayyyy better than either of those places. How far is Snowshoe from you?

Snowshoe is around 5 1/2 from where i am, if i had the money to go overnight and board 2 days i would go there, but im not driving 10 hours for one day. Long runs is what im looking for, thats what caught my eye looking at the winterplace. We just got a lot of snow this weekend too, so tomorrow is looking good. And hopefully it wont be as busy because the Super Bowl? hopefully..
