This summer the winter will keep going (hopefully).
I am planning a trip to South America. Argentina, Chile or both. I want to spend the whole season there and hoping to do it on the cheap. Is there anyone out there with real experience of those places who could throw any light on the situation, e.g. good and cheap places to ride, sleep, eat, drink, work, see, etc. Muchos gracias, Traveler |

Your best bet since you are on a budget is Bariloche. It is not super cheap, but because it is a city, you can find more options for housing. The nightlife is epic as are the ladies. Work is hard to get, but not imposible. Food as a whole is pretty cheap and good. There is a resort, Catedral just 20 mins from town with tons of terrain. When you want to mix it up, you can drive 1 hour to Cerro Bayo, or 3 hours to Chapelco.
You will hear a lot about Las Lenas (arg), Portillo (chile), and valle nevado (chile, but doing it on the cheap is really tough. Good luck, hope to see ya down there. |
