SO I was so irate when I had to leave Utah, earlier this year, the day it started dumping nearly 7 feet in 7 days at Snowbird. Now I am grumpy because I only got to enjoy the first 3.5 feet of 7 feet in 7 days at Kirkwood, CA. Check out the silliness and whiteroom shots that were had at Kirkwood earlier today. What a crazy place and an amazing week. I wish I hadn't come home, yesterday!

Traveling the States and Taking Pictures
SO pissed you have no idea! I went up monday morning...took off at 5, ready for an epic day. I got up to the pass in no time, flying over the snowed up 88...to be stopped at the Carson Spur, 5 miles from heaven...They were still doing avalanche control and the road was closed...so I waited along with 30 or so cars...then we got the news that CalTrans is under manned apparently, and it will talke them, AT LEAST 5 hours to clear the road (??????)...I waited until 12 ( from 8 ) and then took off...First time in 4 years I can't get to the slopes 5 miles away...the drive back without riding what I knew was an epic day...was ....long and slow!...lol.
Especially because both Caltrans and Kirkwood web sites said that 88 was open both directions that morning...
The next day was even better...bluebird and powder...but I was stuck here..going tomorrow with the kids...and maybe monday if we get some fresh....
you should have...they close the 25..and it was pure bean soup riding yesterday Well I'm exagerating...wasn't that bad...considerning the temps, I was there with the kids. Not too bad on the backside...but nothing to do with the epic Wednesday I got.
They might get new snow this weekend.
Kirkwood looks like an amazing mountain. I've been able to ride Squaw and Heavenly, though that was many years ago. In recent years I've been hitting CO every year but the memories of Tahoe are still up there...
