It ain't over, New England! Jay to re-open after a foot of fresh!

The late-April storm that brought carnage to the South is currently dumping snow on Northern New England. Expecting nearly a foot (or more!) of new snow, Jay Peak is re-opening Thursday through the weekend for a last blast. $69 will get you a studio in the new Tram Haus or a slopeside condo, INCLUDING lift tickets and breakfast (or maybe lunch). The the cheap digs for the night might make the 4 1/2 hour drive worthwhile. Hmmmmmmmmm. (BTW, they aren't saying what will be open, only that the Jet Triple and Metro Quad will be open).

I would definitely get after it. I've seen some great late season tr's coming out of Tuck's, Mansfield, and other areas in the east. Fresh snow and a consolidated spring snow pack = $$$

This morning I said I was happy I didn't make the drive...Jay's site showed only 4 trails open, and two of them were the same trail with different top/bottom names. But looking at the pics today, and the trail count...holy shit. This would have been a good day to call in sick. It's supposed to be in the 70s-80s in New England this weekend, so today and tomorrow might be the best of it.

But do check out the photos. Pretty effing phenomenal for late April. I sooo wish I was there.
