Big Bear is as good as you're going to get - 2 hr 45 min drive.

You'll have Bear Mountain, Snow Summit and Snow Valley. Bear Mountain/Snow Valley will be your best bet.

Or you have Mammoth Mountain - ~7 hour drive

Mammoth is a great resort, definitely worth the drive a couple times a season.

If you really fall in love with snowboarding, you need to move. You're in one of the worst locations.

Well there is also Mt. Baldy. It's a little over 2 hours away - just north of Big Bear. Fairly small, family owned local resort.

Also forgot to mention June Mtn. Which is up in the sierras by mammoth.
