United dropped their flights from Philly to Vancouver to $438 today so I jumped on it and will be headiong to canada next week. I'm trying to figure out how to get to the mountain from the airport the cheapest. Has anyone used the bus service (or any other transportation)?
Also, where would you recommend to stay that is the closest to the lifts and/or village? The last minute deals say upper whistler, but I have no idea of the local geography and don't plan on having a car. TIA (BTW, I looked though about 10 pages of searches and could not find an answer.) |

Cheap and dirty transit = greyhound.
Look for accommodations that have lift passes included. If you wanna party stay at the Village. If you are more low-key you can do Creekside (has it's own gondola). Upper/lower Village is no big deal. 5min walk to Gondola from bottom, 1min from top |

Thanks for the info. This morning I saw rooms for a $100 in the village but of course when I went back to secure one after I purchased the flight the only ones left were $140. I'll wait it out a couple of days and see what happens.
