Posted this in the regional forum, but I figure'd I'd have more luck here.

I'm headed to Stratton in two weeks, and I was wondering if anyone had general advice/tips for the mountain. We'll be staying in Timberline.

The weather isn't looking too great at the moment. Hopefully we get some snow!

We got 14 inches here yesterday. I rode today from 3-4pm today but it had rained somewhat after that 14 inches so it turned into packed powder cement after everyone rode on it. Calling for snow through the weekend.

Start your day at the sun bowl side because there's a lot less ppl there.
Then around 11am or later, work your way to the other side of the mtn (main base). I actually like the sun bowl side and feel there are more fun trails on that side of the mtn, assuming, of course, that most of the trails on that side are open. I stayed at the resort once (inn at stratton) and liked it. Not sure how timberline is.
