I have always been trapped in the icy North Carolina mountains, and I have made 3 trips up to snowshoe, WV. Next season I want to take a trip to a big resort. I want to start planning now to ensure I can get the best pricing, and conditions possible.
As far as riding ability and style, I enjoy everything from bombers to moguls with fresh snow (as long as its not too steep), to Medium sized terrain parks. I can handle shay's revenge and cup run at snowshoe in icy conditions without a problem so, I believe I will be fine at a big mountains blacks with nice snow on them.
I naturally assumed ehh I'll take my trip to breck, but after looking on this forum I have realized there are a lot of nice resorts. I also realized breck's parks are probably well beyond my park riding ability so why waste the time...
I could care less about night life or food or luxury, I want to snowboard, and that is my only concern. As long as I have a bed and snow for 4-5 days, I am happy
Can I get some recommendations on some resorts that have cheap lodging options, and are good 1st time "big mountain" resorts. I don't think I am quite ready for 40 degree gladed terrain, but I'd enjoy some nice soft bowl runs and maybe some wide chutes and "steeper" terrain. Like I said, I also like terrain parks, so some small parks would be nice!
