Which Mountain?

Work is sending me to CO on 1/7/14. I have the option to fly out the weekend before (1/3), and was going to bring my kit and demo a board while there (would bring my own stick, but have to go to Nashville from Denver of Thursday 1/9). I've never been on the mountain in CO and am looking for advice on where to go. I'm flying in and out of Denver but working out in Grand Junction on Tuesday morning, so there are a lot places in between (Vail, Breck, Aspen, Powderhorn, etc...). I have the Tahoe local pass, so get discounted tickets at Vail, Breck, etc..., but would be down to go elsewhere if it's better. I like riding trees, steeps, powder, small drops, park if its thin cover/groomer day. Any recommendations you can give are appreciated.

Winterpark/Mary Jane has some amazing tree runs.

Copper mountain is overall really good, less crowds in general than other locations

A basin is smaller, but lots of good terrain

Breck may be crowded

Loveland if they get a lot of snow, but small too

Sort of listed in my order of preference

Thanks for the reply. Winterpark looks like a lot of fun! Think I'll hit that on Sunday, and head down to Breck on Monday (since my pass gets me a discount there). How is Breckenridge compared to Vail? Meaning if you were only going to ride one, on a Monday, which would you choose?

Since I'll be in Grand Junction Tuesday is Powderhorn with checking out on Wednesday or would you recommend driving back towards Denver and going to one of places along the way? Sorry for all the questions, it's my first time on the mountains in CO and I want to maximize my time. Thanks.

I haven't been to vail, it's on my list for this year actually. I hear it's amazing, and huge. Breck opened peak 6 this year, it's on my list as well...some pretty nice bowls it looks like.

Good call on not breck on the weekend, they can get pretty crowded. Copper and winter park less so.

I ended up hitting Breck, Vail, Purgatory, and Breck again. 4 mountains in 5 days!:yahoo: Did demos at all the mountains and got to ride a NS Cobra, Venture Zephyr, Burton Baracuda, and Salomon Drift Rocker. The Zephyr performed really well in the back bowls at Vail, and the Drift Rocker was really fun, skate'y and had lots of pop. Hopefully work will be sending me back to CO again at the end of the month, cause Tahoe is shit right now.
