Going to Sundance film festival tomorrow. I was going to bring my board, but it hasn't snowed recently, and It's not supposed to snow this week. I'm wondering if it's worth it to bring my board there if I'm only going to maybe board 1 day. Anybody been out there and can tell me how the snow is? Thanks!

Well first off its mlk weekend AND sundance.. crowds in pc will be unfreakin believable but hey why let that deter you
in pc the canyons would prob be the better bet as its normally a little less crowded. no snow here since sunday BUT the park city resorts get all the morning sun so they tend to have looser snow than the cottonwood canyon resorts in slc. went yesterday to brighton and everything was still nice and loose. alot of times in winter we will get inversions. what that is is when there is old snow/ice on the ground from previous storms it creates a refridgerator effect keeping the valley cool and locking in all our wonderful pollutants. the beautiful brown haze prevents the warmth from penetrating and we get an inversion of temps. this means that the resorts will actually be warmer than the valley which means nice loose snow even though it isnt new

Cool thanks. I got my board with me. I'll probably board on Monday. It's probably going to be super crowded though, but oh well. I usually go to Sundance, but I heard they don't have the best snow since the elevation is lower. Anyone have recommendations on a place that could have decent snow, and not super crowded?
