I think Fluid was referring to Winterpark and not the train if I am reading it correctly. The ride back on the train was full of stinky everyone. That is what happens after a day of hard riding on the hill. Nothing hanging out in the bar car didn't fix anyway. I've had a blast every time I've ridden the ski train. The only reason I didn't do it more was as you mentioned, the price. Still, it is something that is worth doing once a season, that sort of thing.
And for the record. Winterpark is full of stinky skiers. Everyone should just get the Epic Pass. It's way better... |

Gawd, I wish they would just do something. This state has been talking about doing something about the I70 shit show since before 1990. All we've done is pay for study after study. Hell, widening the high to three lanes through Summit County would be a huge improvement. All the problems on 70 are related to the bottlenecks on the highway. Light rail would be a great option for sure. Cost is an issue but it's an issue for whatever solution they decide to go with. It just needs to start moving forward.

They managed to build a toll road around the entire city that they couldn't afford to pay for, but they can't get their shit together and fix I-70. Don't they realize how much revenue each year they go without doing something they are losing? Most people don't think it's worth the trouble to go up. Well, you know, if the Co politicians didn't have condos and homes up there maybe they'd care a little more to get the ball rolling for the rest of us!

As I thought, looks like the rail line use has been worked out. Still haven't seen anything about using Union Station. I suspect that must already be in place being that they did a public announcement about having rail rights. It is looking pretty good for the ski train this season. We might have to get a group of the Front Rangers on this forum to do a day up there this season using the train.
