Default Vail or Wolf Creek?

We are on the way to CO a couple hrs from decision time and we are torn between Vail and Wolf Creek?

How busy will Vail be this weekend typically?

How much exposed stuff will Wolf Creek have with a 38" base?

Thanks in advance.

Best snow Depends where the next storm hits....
Vail will be pretty crowded with front range people that are pissed they missed the powder. They have a lot open though so the crowds thin out...

Wolf Creek isn't to bad on Thanksgiving, Christmas gets packed

Thanks for the response Argo. We elected to hit Vail because they showed new snow, 24" base and 57 runs open. We were expecting groomers with the hope of a few side hits but it was so much better than that. They had a lot of stuff open to include trees and some more difficult stuff on the front side. They opened lift 10 Sunday so we even got some turns in fresh snow.

I skied at Vail a couple times back in the late 80s and only snowboarded there once a couple years ago. Last time we only rode in the bowls and Blue Sky. I will say that I very much enjoyed the front side. Lots of fun areas...I actually started trying some small rock drops again and the leg held up well.

Overall, a fantastic weekend...nary a scratch on the base too. Amazing snow out there right now!

If your riding on a weekend I'd say Wolf Creek hands down, also if the turkey day storm that hitting Utah tracks south Wolf Could get a good dumping.
