Going to CO in mid Feb, if you had to pick two resorts to go to, which ones would you pick to go snowboarding at? We are mainly intermediate snowboarders only.
Will you have a vehicle and drive to the mountain?
$$$ no object give me luxury or $ pls we pack a lunch.
As intermediates your on-hill requirements will be met anywhere you go, the question is what your logistical plans and requirements are.
I wouldn't go near i70 resorts if I was coming to CO, but even if you do, its usually only 1x round trip for visitors on i70, you aren't driving it 3x a week like we are. Mid Feb lowest crowds best conditions of the year no matter where you go (although cold and not quite as righteous as spring dumps)

Don't care about night life, just trying to go on some good runs and have fun on the slopes, that the main criteria. The cheaper the better but but prefer the best bang for your buck.
Within half an hour of each other throws a kink into the situation. So does looking at different passes. Your best bet is probably getting the Vail whateverthefucktheycallitnow pass and then you'll have your choice of Vail, Beaver Creek, Breck, Keystone, and A-Basin within roughly half an hour or so.
If you guys didnt buy the epic pass yet, then vail resorts are out, unless you guys are ballers:wink:. I would do copper and winter park, if you stay in frisco its about 15 mins to copper and an hour to winter park, if winter park is too far, you can settle for loveland/abasin/keystone. All those resorts you can find good deals on lift tickets throughout the season.
Just wondering, what does Vail, Breckenridge and all those other 150 lift pass resorts have that make them worth the extra 50? I just want to know because I'm not sure when i'll be able to make it out to CO again so if it's justifiable then I would try it out.
probably because you get to go to all the vail resorts on the same ticket/pass (in the same day if you want). so you could buy a lift ticket to breck, ride there part of the day, then head on over to vail or something. at least i think that's how it works. i've never been to CO. i think they have free shuttles that go from resort to resort but i could be wrong about that.
I went 2/19-2/22 and it was an awesome trip. We did Keystone and Copper . Copper was by far the better mountain, the runs were more playful and wide open where Keystone's runs were a little more narrow and steeper.
Went all the way up to Keyston's peak on the snow cats then got stuck in the trees for a bit but it was all worth it. This was my first time riding deep powder then factor in the trees, it was weird but pretty interesting.
Copper was super fun. Went down Union bowl a few times and then into the powder at the bottom of the bowl(is there a river under there). The front of the mountain was pretty busy because we went on a Sunday. Awesome tip on the Shell gas station deal. We basically just asked pple for their receipts and were able to get the b1g1 lift ticket deal.
Thanks for all the tips guys, Copper did not disappoint!
Maybe I missed it but how long are you going to be in CO? Copper and Keystone are great mountains, but not on the same pass, so you are probably buying day passes or maybe a multiple day deal, but those two mountains won't be on the same multi-mountain pass.
If you think you would be in CO enough to get your money back I would look at the Summit Value Pass? Pricey, but it's A-bay, Keystone, and restricted Breck.
My advice still stands, even a day late and a dollar short :embarrased1:
