Lots of good snow out there right now, probably heading out solo(unless I can find a partner) and riding Brighton front\back periphery to get in a workout before I have to go into work.
Just real chill mostly "inbound" lines, simply wanna get a lap or two in under me while we still have all all this fresh snow.
I've been thinking about it. Problem is u don't have the proper bc gear or people to go with.
I am seriously thinking of going to bird tomorrow add I have pto to burn. Sucks that is still about 50 bucks and they only have 3 lifts spinning. But damn it's so tempting.
Do you know anywhere that has tickets cheaper than birds website?
Hell I was told they were still like 75$ so I said F that...........not paying more than 40$ to ride the bird without the tram being operational operational :-(
Too bad because conditions up there are SICK right now(I'm told)
Only problem is I have to be back in ogden no later than 6 tomorrow.
If I go down there will my front wheel drive car be ok? I should think the roads are pretty good. Or are they still enforcing chains etc? Normally I would steal my wife's truck to go there but my car is a bit better in gas and I have my tunes and all.

Normally I'd say no big deal this time of year, if you have good tires go for it but if not I'd pay close attention to the weather....always the ski bus too.
Hikes did you make it out today? Sounds like there was a lot of fresh again. Wish I had taken all week of now. If it keeps snowing I might go to bird again
YES I did actually........of course all I have at work with me right now are screen grabs off of facebook and not edits from lightroom but whatever here ya go.....some are from my IP6 and some are from a Sony DSC100 PaS
Oh and for the life of me I couldn't find a dam head lamp so I didn't even get going until 7am, which was fine the snow was still so fucking good.......waist deep turns at the top of Great Western(dropping just outside the gates) which turned into knee deep mash-potatoey snow down near the bottom where the aspect turns to south. I took a little more aggressive route down than after seeing a guy in front me(who put in the skin track) drop without any tell tale signs of instability.
Ha ha...so I was planning on heading down to Utah and thinking of riding the bird one day and boot hiking Superior another. I didn't even check an avalanche info because...hey...its almost May so why should I? Not being able to find out the real story on Snowbird passes made me hold off. I am buying for me and two of my boys too so the difference between $50 and $75 will kill a deal for me.
thought nothing of it but would watch the Superior cam Alta has. And....what happened on the 24th? By looking at the cam I could see a slide on Superior that probably would have killed me.:surprise: Yikes
Perhaps their evasive and secret pricing saved my bacon eh? :chin: And to this day I still don't know exactly what it would cost for the three of us to show up at the window?:facepalm1:
Supposedly if you have another resort pass and you show it at the window you can get a pass for 50$
Yea we've had like 2 feet of fresh snow over the last 5-8 days, it is super stable right now but anytime you get that much fresh snow this time of year you have to be weary(and no official Avalanche report).........and yea well especially on superior since it's so slide prone.
Too bad because conditions are so good out there
