Default Jackson Hole 2011-12

Moving out to Jackson for the upcoming winter season with some friends. Two of us have never been out west before, one of the guys i'm going with has spent the past 3 winters in Jackson. I just ordered an avalanche beacon, still looking into good deals on a probe, shovel and backpack. Any suggestions? It will be my first season in the BC. I'm an advanced east coast rider, but i've only been riding Mount Snow/Killington etc for about 13 years.

Looking for some input on some of the best terrain to shred at JHMR. My buddy is telling me lapping the gondy and hitting rock springs is some of his favorite stuff to hit out there.

Anyone else spending the winter in Jackson this year?

Not spending the winter, but will be out there for a week in early January. Just about everything at JHMR is great. Gondy laps are sweet, but there's a bunch of great stuff off the Thunder and Sublette chairs, and for a 10-15 min hike you can get some great turns on the Headwall....
