Typically what should one expect this early in the season? obviously it depends on the weather so I am asking guys like Kilclimbz and B.A. that live it every year.
I have the opportunity to book a super cheap trip out there this weekend and I don't want to drag a group of friends if the situation is going to suck. Last edited by racer357; 10-22-2011 at 02:03 PM. |

there have been several posts like this in the last month. to which one BA replied "i was riding waist deep powder opening day at breck last year". this year looks to be similar (la nina) to last year, a-basin and loveland both opened last week.
early dec is a hell of alot better than late, when there will be mad crowds every day of the last 2 weeks of dec. in a bad snow year you can get skunked in feb if you are comparing it to a good snow year, nobody can predict the weather 2 months out. |

This is what the NOAA has to say about this coming winter.
U.S. dealt another La Niņa winter but ?wild card? could trump it ![]() Here is the actual report they issued - Climate Prediction Center - Seasonal Outlook |

Thanks fellas, I have an epic pass and don't care so much as long as there is snow on one of the resorts. I just wanted an idea if bringing these other guys that have never been west was a good idea.
I need their first trip to be bitchin as they have the means to travel with me all winter, and will gladly do so if they have a good time. Living in Indiana with an Epic pass reqires traveling friends... LOL |

Well I was going to get a fresh supply of plutonium but someone decided they needed to go kill Libya's dictator so now I'm fucked and can't fire up the flux capacitator.

Damnit, if you can't fire up the flux capactior, How will I find you to buy you a beer while we are there. I was specifically told to find you at the re-entry point of the delorean.
It's not so much that they need a epic pow day, I just wante to make sure half the mountains aren't still going to be dirt, with blown snow in the runs. We have that shit in Indiana. |
