Free place to shower in Summit County? - Snowboarding Forum

I am living in a little log cabin about a 5 mile hike into the woods on national park land. I have no running water or electric just a wood burning stove/oven. I smell like I havent showered in days and turning heads when I go to town/ Is there anywhere in summit county that offers free showers?

Oh Pauly you are an interesting one for sure. Isn't there a YMCA or something that you could pay a nominal fee to use a shower? Probably too cold for a sun shower to work at your cabin...

I don't know if there is one, but back home the YMCA will allow homeless people to shower. Might want to try that route? Or flirt with a lady at a truck stop.

take some baby wipes and clean your face, pits, groin, ass, and feet. ranger bath. its not as good as a shower but its better than nothing.

This is Pauly we are talking about. Baby wipes probably won't get the smell of the dead hooker off of him that he's been fucking behind his cabin for the past three weeks...

I'm all for a short camp trip, but to live like that, wow.

Not hating, I think it's interesting to say the least. However, I could never do it as a home situation.

A YMCA or asking to use the bathroom at a health club (and then doing a quick shower) would probably be your best bet for a quick fix.

Other than that, you should be able to bath yourself fairly well with a bar of soap, a washcloth, a tub (like, a metal or wooden one that is big enough for you to stand in) and a little over a gallon of water. This is how people who do not have easy access to water bathe themselves.

I had to do this once when my former roommate left town for a week without paying the water bill!

If you stock up on water (just get some jugs and refill them at water fountains or other watering holes) then you should be able to stock enough H2O to last a week at a time.

Disclaimer: if you have a way to heat the water before you use it, then the process is much more bearable.

-EDIT-
If you stink bad enough to turn heads...then stock up on washcloths too.
Also, your basin for washing clothes should be able to double as your basin for washing yourself (assuming it is big enough)

In Colorado we have Rec centers....YMCA's are few and far between.

about 5 dollars and you are in. Hot tub, pool, gym, indoor track, basketball courts, showers.

Quit being a cheap ass and install some plumbing.
