Hey guys what's up? Thanks for checking this out I'm looking to start a new christian based non profit action magazine. With your help, the help and efforts of others, along with my fiancee and I. We have the chance n oppurtunity to create something special. A new way to reach out and show the world God. I can't do this on my own, and if I were to believe that id be alone on my project. Well I wouldn't have even bothered to sign up n post this forum.
About me: I grew up a flat lander in eastern montana. I didn't even know what snowboarding was until atleast 8. Just recently I've been able to pursue and advance my skills. Mostly at Red Lodge Mountain, btw has the most snow out of anywhere. Never the less everytime I shred I push myself to go bigger and not to be afraid of the unknown. I proposed last Nov. And me and my fiancee are set to be wed sometime july 2013.

Personally I don't feel the need of the world of god anywhere. Why the Xtians feel the need to convert people is beyond me. Superstition is so outdated. Do not count on me. Unelss you have an atheist section. Which I doubt.

I wouldn't mind helping out, but why try to show the world the "God" they have already known about for about 4,000 years, or so the bible says. I do not like to disprove peoples religions and i feel some people need religion to give them a good path to follow, but others are self sufficent enough to not need religion like most of our founding fathers and Albert Einstein. But if you truly are trying to start a non-profit christian action sports magazine, it's a good target audience because they love to support christian organizations and will do whatever the church tells them to do. But....anyways good luck and if you need any snowboarding pictures or videos PM me. Just dont count on me talking about religion.

Seems to be the cool, trendy thing to do to bash organized religion and peoples faith. I dont know if i believe in God but i admire people who believe so strongly in something they cant see with their own eyes. How much time and effort have you dedicated to trying to genuinely help people? The world would be a better place if people spent less time whining about and bitching about peoples faith, and more time following their examples of selfless dedication.

No bash intended... just honestly wondering how you incorporate messages of faith into a magazine containing pictures of action sports...
Would you call a terrorist suicide bomber a good example of selfless dedication? Because it fits the definition exactly. Why does god always tell people to save other people? If we worked more on saving the planet (from an ecological/resource standpoint) wouldn't you save more people in the end? What are you gonna do when the cost of oil becomes prohibitive (we will see this in our lifetimes) and you can't deliver resources to the needy people around the world (who often are more than likely only in dire situations because of overbreeding to the point where they can no longer live off the land and its resources.... war torn/genocidal government areas excluded...) Then you are screwed because it will cost a million dollars to ship a crate of bibles down to Central America. If you really want to help people, row a boat (sustainability remember?) with a couple tons of Trojans over to some overpopulated country and show them how to use them. Less people = more food/water/land/housing/sanity per person!! The planet can only support so much... I'm not sure how I turned this into a rant about overpopulation but at least I can sit in class today without going crazy. |

I am all for the entrepreneurial spirit but how would this look? What would it entail?
Considering that regular newspapers and magazines and dropping like flies, why would one focused on a fraction of the already-small "action sports" market? Would the purpose be to showcase "action sports" or to spread the word of god to kids/people who already like "action sports"? |
