Looking to plan a trip to Vail. I know it's not the best season so far, but generally speaking is February or March a better time? Is March typically more crowded because of spring break? we would avoid president's day, so would either be the 2nd weekend in February or wait until early/mid March.
Thanks. |

Hard to say. It's been a fickle season. Right now conditions are as good a they have been all year, and that isn't saying much.
That said, March is generally our snowiest month. After having a couple of lackluster March months in the earlier part of the decade, it has been money. Yes, it is spring break so there will be more people. Typically the temps are warmer and the powder comes often. So if you can wait, look at the long range and see if they are expecting a snowy cycle for your proposed February date. Otherwise, I'd gamble on March. |
