How are the bowls off of chair 9? I am curious about the conditions and difficulty. Mid February I am going to be there because a friend of mine, new to the snow, will be taking a lesson all day. While she is doing that, I want to go play, but do not want to get stuck somewhere beyond my abilities, while riding alone.

I am curious if there are any lines in the bowls off chair 9 that might cater to an intermediate rider. With the current conditions, are there a lot of rocks, or is everything fairly covered? I don't want to thrash up my base if I can avoid it. Up to this point in my riding, its been mostly groomed runs, but I want to start exploring new terrain.

Any other Loveland tips would be appreciated.

Some of the very best lift accessed terrain in CO. Loveland also has a 20 seat cat that is now going to run along the ridge too, something I'm a little mixed on. The convenience is nice, but one of the good things about The Ridge was that there were almost always good lines on a powder day if you were willing to work for them.

However, 9 isn't running yet and if the 10-14 day forecasts are accurate, it won't be in mid-February either.

IF it's open, yeah, it'll probably be thin. Snow snakes will be lurking. There are plenty of lines on the ridge that are very doable for an intermediate rider. There are some hucks, but they're obvious and easily avoidable.
