Hey all!
The wife and I are thinking about flying into the Denver area to do some hiking. Last year we hit Estes Park / RMNF, so the bar is set pretty high. Is there any good hiking in the Winter Park area? Seems they have some good accommodations being that it's the off-season. Open to suggestions, but would like to stay within a couple hours drive of Denver. Thanks, Paul |

Tons of hiking around there. The easiest spot is from the Summit of Berthoud Pass and hike the Continental Divide trail on either side of the highway. On the West side you can hike over to Stanley Peak. Probably a 4-5 hour hike round trip. Maybe a little longer. On the east side, a hike out to James Peak will make for a long day. You can go for as long or as short of a hike as you like. You do need to be mindful of thunderstorms. Being on the continental divide when a storm rolls in can be very bad for your constitution. Watch the weather, and generally speaking, plan to be off of the divide by 1pm.

The options are virtually unlimited. Trails.com is a great resource for finding hikes.
