We just secured a house in Breck for the week of Dec. 12th-19th only to find out the Dew tour is supposed to be over that weekend? 15-17? I went to the tours site and no info at all, no dates, no nothing. I'm not sure if the blurb I caught on one of the Breck tourist sites was talking about this year, 12-13 season or last year 11-12 season. Anyone know the dates? (Yes I googled it, so if that is all you know then STFU
) If that is the case, anyone ever been to this event? Do tickets cost much? How late do they run the comps? (No way in hell am I gonna give up a day of riding to go watch some crap I can see on youtube....fucking sick of watching youtube boarding already ) I assume they have bands and what not, does this cost anything? Are all the Summit resorts gonna be clogged up with teenaged Shaun White wanna-be's? I ride A-bay...2 of my brothers didn't get to go last year so we are doing 2 trips this year, this early one, and one in the spring. that means my budget is going to be pretty slim for entertainment (like I care, I go to ride, I can entertain myself fine around here ) Thing is, my current GF is going with, and she has never been to Co. so a big event/party would be fun for her. (she doesn't ride, but she's Irish so loves to party, hell can almost drink me under the table) I look forward to BA's assessment of how I will be trampled to death by Burton fanboys before I get anywhere near the Park ![]() Any info on dates, what to expect (I'm just hoping for snow dammit) or what it's like and what it cost's to check it out, would be most appreciated. my wife and I were able to catch the DewTour in Ocean City, MD earlier this year, so I can at least give you an idea on how they ran the first leg of this tour.
walk up entrance was free, you could pay additional money to get an access pass and have seating at the events, but we just walked up and watched the skateboard vert and bowl finals without any issue. The events ran from about 11Am until about 8:30 - 9PM. It started on Thursday and lasted through Sunday. They had concerts on Friday and Saturday nights (Wiz Kalifa and some other rapper if I recall correctly). Not sure if any of this really helps, but at least maybe it'll give you a little bit of an idea. |

I want to say they were between $60 and $80, but I'm just going from memory. If you want to see the events up close and there's a decent music artist you want to see I would recommend it. Those that had passes were allowed to sit in bleachers up close on the vert ramp and could just walk up and grab a seat. All the cheapies such as myself had to wait in line in order to sit in those same stands. We skipped the line and just walked down onto the beach at the open end of the vert ramp and watched from ground level. It was a lot of fun, but I'd imagine the seating up-close to all the athletes would have been even better.

It's lame as fuck that's all you need to know. Peak 8 gets crowded at the base, parks crowded. If you feel the urge to go stand on the sidelines you can there's foot traffic access or you can cut over from the kiddie lift. Town is where the shit show will be full force, private parties, concerts, down town rail jam, hookers, blow, probably have another riot like a few years back where they tipped the Toyota over on main street that was parked on the rocks outside Cecelias.
Over all shouldn't effect you too much except if you're trying to go out and eat in town. Just book reservations ahead of time and you're golden. Rest of the county you could see a tumble weed roll by.

WAAAHT!! PARTIES! CONCERTS! HOOKERS N BLOW!! AND FUCKIN RIOTS!! WOOOT I'm there!! Maybe I can talk the girlie into gettin all geeked an having a 3 way with some mountain skank!! That would be the best vaca eva!! Maybe I'll even see a flying tomato
I'm sure we will check it out, prolly get shit faced, jump on the wrong bus and end up in Frisco ![]() I am glad the rest of the county will be deserted, I've been at the Basin on a couple deserted days. One there was a tanker wreck that closed the road up at about 10AM by noon seemed like there was only about 20 people there...and they were having a keg n grillin burgers in the parking lot, one of my best days ever. Got smashed and had the whole mountain to myself pretty much, hit the flow that day, some of the best riding I've ever done. Thanks for the insight BA, I would say if I see ya I'd buy ya a beer...but I hardly know what you look like....however if you see me, I'll have the big flatlandjoey neon sign on my forehead, hook me up with a sticker or some shit...wait...not some shit literally

If you jump on the wrong bus and end up in Frisco you have to be to the point that you are about to die from alcohol consumption.
