2 years ago I lived in Empire and rented a house for $600 a month that was a 3 bedroom monster right on the main strip so that sounds like a screaming deal in Vail (yuppieville). Last edited by 2hellnbak; 09-28-2012 at 12:02 PM. |

And I havent drank and drove since i was about 17(24 now), seen enough friends get DUI's to know its not worth it. And plus I think scottsdale AZ is one of the strictest places for those type of things so im use to the high cops especially around 2am on weekends. Leaving at 5 or 6 in the morning is what i expected and since im use to waking up at about 330am to ride it sounds legit! Ive noticed multiple people have said stay away from the Colfax area, is it just super ghetto or what? And as far as Kipling and Wadsworth, if your saying west of there that looks like your pretty much saying Lakewood is a no no? Cuz there is not much more space west of those streets that are still in Lakewood. Again is this just becuase its ghetto? Thanks for all the input guys |

The statement about cops in Evergreen is dead on. The statement about Cactus Jack's is laughable. Hit it up if you like your women with half their teeth missing. LOL
I'm married, so I don't have to prowl these days. There isn't much of a young adult population in Evergreen. Lots of HS aged kids and lots of established families with not a whole lot in between. I've been up here for 4 years now. Love it, but if I was single I probably wouldn't be here.

Wells fArgo, 1st bank, US bank are 3 big ones. There are others. Tons of restaurants. In Avon theres some decent apartments called buffalo ridge that are $1000/month for a nice 2 bedroom with a garage. Just look at craigslist/high rockies for more exmples or vaildaily.com
I'm in an all bills paid condo on the river in vail, 2 bedrooms and higher end finish interior for $1700/month there are places for $1000 if you keep your eyes open but you have to look between June and sept/oct or the prices go a lot higher. Frisco and silverthorn in summit are nice and relatively inexpensive. If yo go down to eagle it's a lot less but 30 min to vail, 20 to beav. There's free buses within summit county, within vail and within Avon. There's an eagle county bus but it's a little $ to ride, most businesses give free bus passes for the eagle county bus though. |

BTW, grew up here so, I know a -little- about the town and the people. There are good nights out and lame nights out like any small town. Back on subject... West of kipling but either north or south of colfax... I would prefer south because the North end of town is a PITA to navigate depending on where you end up. The c-470 corridor wouldn't be bad (littleton/lakewood) depending on how far south you go. Too far south and you are almost back tracking to get to I-70. The Green Mountain area would be sweet but houses themselves are a little pricey around there (but you won't have people digging through you car or your trash in the middle of the night). It depends on if this move is more directed towards riding or actually just living somewhere with conveniences etc. If I were moving here JUST to ride I would look in Clear Creek County. I had several houses there on THE CHEAP and I could hitch hike to Loveland (did it MANY MANY times). Clear creek is kinda ghetto too and if you think Linvllelljrklegorge (what?) had a comment about girls missing teeth, that is the place to find them lol. Summit county is pretty sweet and does have a number of options available for year round work. Keystone for example does mountain biking and much more in the summer. Outside of Winter Park would be sweet too. The closer the better if you're dedicated. Traffic sucks! Last edited by 2hellnbak; 09-29-2012 at 12:41 AM. |

I'll echo the sentiment about Boulder. I haven't been living around here for too long, but it doesn't take long to completely get the Boulder vibe. Awesome parks (Can't beat the access you have to Chautauqua), also a pretty good food scene, but man the people are something else. The housing prices are also extremely wack due to their crazy anti-growth policies to keep Boulder "Boulder" as they say.
I really like Golden actually, I can't comment too much on the nightlife scene or anything, but it gives you good access to the resorts, not to mention Clear Creek Canyon and Golden Gate Canyon Park are all really awesome. It's also really good access to Denver, so plenty of opportunities for jobs. It's a good compromise location imo. |

Damn you guys are making me want to move to the mountains so bad now that i know its actually affordable! We are probably gonna end up on the westside of Lakewood somewhere since my buddy is transferring jobs, but thanks a lot for the info. Once our first lease is up I know where ill be looking
![]() Another question which maybe should be another thread is: for people that have epic passes and ride during the week, have you noticed any certain weekdays that are better for each resort? such as a-basin is good on mondays, Breck tuesdays etc..Or as long as its not the weekend are they all about the same? Feel free to PM me if you dont want to share this with the rest of world lol Last edited by Skinny Bam; 10-01-2012 at 05:01 PM. |
