Blue sky basin alone is worth the trip. Snowklinger how long have you lived here and not gone? Its really not as bad as you guys are making it out to be...at all actually. Now if it was a holiday weekend ya I may stay away but at the same point its 5000+ acres...pretty hard to not find somewhere empty at any given point. Only downside are the long catwalks but the runs they get you too are worth it.

There have been about 4 days this year with lines that were obnoxious. I'm sure there will be a few more days in march that are crazy... Even on the worst days you can get away to another side of the mountain where no one is at. If you ride until closing during the holidays, the final run down is nuts at 330-430... If your on the mountain late just have a beer up top and wait until 430 to ride down right before final sweep......

I'm coming in Saturday for a week for our annual family trip to Beaver Creek. I've been following the weather so I know the season has been underwhelming so far but how are the actual conditions at BC and Vail right now? Lots of rocks, bare spots, icy, etc. Should I go ahead and mentally prepare myself for multiple gashes to my board, lol. I wish we could postpone the trip but its a yearly thing tied to this week plus its free lodging. Any day on the mountain beats a day at work.

Guys, I know what the forecasters are saying, but don't get your hopes up. It seems like southern San Juan dumpage almost always equals disappointment for the I-70 areas. Seems like the forecasters always predict huge snow for the southern San Juans and decent snow elsewhere and it sets us up for rampant butthurt when we get up early to see snow reports of 2" at the I-70 spots. I'm not buying it this time. If it comes, GREAT but I don't expect it.
