I know it's early, but damn, we need some snow.

Colorado | OpenSnow

That shit looks like a repeat of last season.

And in the early 90's this is what they said about snowboarders and why we were only allowed down 2-3 trails on the whole mountain. Talk about segregation at its finest.

"You make too many big piles of snow".............lol

Hell of a day at Breck, I missed the fresh powder yesterday but conditions were still good and the weather was great. Going to attempt Vail tomorrow. I wish my friend would have told me her friend was a brand new skier, just had to ditch em and tomorrow I'm riding with friends who live in Vail, I'll see them for apres, they need a damn lesson.

In other news, the forecast for colorado looks downright depressing. This may be the first year in the past 5 or so that i dont get 20+ days out there. i havent even been tempted to head that way since i was last out in early january. Hell, im looking at heading out east for some powder chasing.... pretty sad when the left coast is getting more powder in a day than colorado got all of january.

Meanwhile, we've been getting so much snow in New England/VT/NH that the plows have nowhere to put...and yet, some idiot recently posted in one of the travel forums that he was fed up with the "Ice coast" and was heading West to look for real powder. I say, yay. Head west, young man. One less kook here.

Well, let's see... a good amount of recent snow combined with high winds and now rapid warming. Yeah, shit is gonna be sliding.

Is it just me or did it look like that guy dropped in right beside a recent avy crown? Sure looked like one just to his left as he was dropping in. That's not very smart.

Had a great time in Breckenridge this week. Got there Sun night and woke up to snow falling. Monday and Tuesday were fun and Wednesday was wonderful. Thursday I was stuck in town waiting on a late flight and wished I had been boarding then too.

I learned this trip that trimming your toenails is important (especially in new boots) if you want to keep them. On both feet my first two toenails are dark blue/purple underneath. I'll probably be losing them soon. I rode two days with these bruised toes and have no idea how. I can hardly walk today.:gaah:

Coming back to Colorado Feb 24-28, I am pondering on canceling it considering how the snowfall and forecast just sucks out there. Last thing I want is to show up and its all ice. You think by end of February things have changed? Also have you seen this before?

For like the first time ever the snowfall is MUCH better on the east coast, absolutely getting dumped on here....

Just finished week at cm. Wednesday was great, but the whole trip was good. Union peak, union meadows, tucker one and iron mask all fun Thursday, but crusty and dusty by Friday afternoon. The tree runs were fun as always east of rendezvous and between timberline and a.flyer.

Got to see all the sia gear, but no equipment voucher to demo. The capita tent almost let us demo without one. The sia crowd was having a blast the last day. The drinking games at flyers were fun (to watch). Sad to see people demoing swallow tail powder boards on groomers though.

Headed back for another week in 20 days. Praying the base is still above 50" then with the next 10 days above 40.

Yesterday was day one of our 3 day trip at copper. Warm as hell, lots of sun, rare ice....all things considered, I had a blast. Worked on some techniques I picked up here. Great mountain!
But the fvckin kids...nearly slammed a 4 year old because out of the blue he decided to cut across instead of turn. I sacrificed myself. He was untouched. I couldn't get up for a few min and all his dad told his son was "you can't worry about what's behind you on the mountain, you have the right of way"
Fuck him for teaching his kid he can carve from edge to edge without checking. Fuck him!
