Beaver Creek was incredible today. They only reported an inch today but when I got there at rope drop there were probably 4-5 inches in most spots and some areas had 8 or more inches. It never stopped snowing all day on the mountain. Grouse was incredible and did lines all day with at most 2 or 3 people if any on the same run.
Was a great way to end my trip. Now I have to fly back home but fortunetly I'll be back in a month.
I just got back from Eisman hut. Which is about six miles north of Beaver Creek as the crow flies. We could see some runs at the Beav from the deck during a brief clearing Saturday morning.
Anyway, since about 10pm Thursday night it started snowing and hadn't quit when I left this afternoon. At 9am we did a snow pit and there was over 15" of new snow since Thursday night. Pics to come soon.
Amazing place but god damn is it a death march to get in there. We started at 1:30 and didn't arrive until almost 9.
Nice wind storm today at Breck. Peak 10 is supposedly opening but after going by there and seeing how much of a ghost town it was that is questionable. Lots of wind scour going on so if you're coming through just be aware that the base is not that deep.
