No one was caught, and that is a good thing. That is not survivable. With any avalanche gear.
Holy crap! That's got to be 10+ ft crown in places. I'd like to see something like that go from the safety of a distant ridge. Glad nobody was caught in that nightmare.

Well this morning was nice till the assholes showed up and I don't mean the tourists. Breck reported 1, there was easily a foot in most spots. It dumped 10 inches in the first 4 hours they were open. Free refills for sure.

Steamboat always has stashes of snow after a big storm. X mas tree bowl, Pony lift, that's all I'm saying.

Argo how did the backside of Vail fair out of this storm. I have to assume it's deeper than a foot back there.

It's way deeper than a foot. We did the minturn mile this afternoon, I was waiting for friends On top of chair 3 on my last post, and it was waist deep all the way down to the creek bed heading out..... the area east of skyline lift, iron mask - steep and deep is super deep. All the tree areas in bluesKy are super deep. Anything south and east facing is pretty loaded up right now too. northern wide open terrain had its goods dispersed by the wind.
