I had a great time at keystone today. There was quite a bit of powder as well as some wind blown icy areas. But I'd say the majority was great.

The wind almost blew my 200lb body off to the heavens a few times though.

Purgatory

Thought I'd give my impressions of Purg(Durango). It's not all that big, I think 7 lifts. But I think it's a pretty fun place to ride.

Trails: Lots of groomers. Most have rollers, which are a lot of fun to pop off of. Plenty of blues. Definitely lots of cruising, which was actually fun.

Steeps: About 30 degrees was the steepest I went down. The groomed blacks were in great shape and a lot of fun.

Trees: There are a couple fun tree trails, I liked Poet's Glade. If trees are your thing you'll want more than they have though.

Lifts: The two high speed lifts are both pretty nice (1 & 3). Sometimes when it's crowded it's actually faster to take a slower lift though.

Parks: Three main ones. Up by the Powderhouse there's a pipe(12 ft) and assorted rails and jumps. To the left of the front 2 lifts there's the big freestyle jumps. And near the base is a smaller park with staircase, boxes, rails, 4 tricks or so in all. Very good jumps to practice on for someone like me.

Food: A chicken strip basket with fries is $8 or so. Fair prices on the food but drinks are crazy expensive. Bring your own. Dante's, Powderhouse, and base restaurants seem to have comparable prices.

Shops: I took my board in for a wax at Bubbas Boards. Little shack 2 miles south of the mountain. They did a good job. 2 friends rented there and were very happy with the service there. Friendly crew, if you're in there after 4 or so expect a party, in a good way!

Durango: Cool town, try out HomeSlice(pizza) and Serious Texas BBQ. Also liked May Palace chinese. Walk around and check stuff out.

All in all a fun area. Neat to explore. Employees are friendly, and as one of my buddies found out the first aid building is small but effective. Great views too.

Homesick

Those pics make me a little homesick. Used to work a lot in Summit County in the Winter. Wish I would have learned to snowboard when I lived out there 20+ years ago. Won't be able to get out there till March. We used to say the current snow conditions were "Clear and still" (clear up to your ass and still coming down)

Great Weekend in your state guys. Breck was awesome Friday and Sat, and Vail was ridiculous on Sunday. Incredible trip out there. Will be back soon.

That Ullr fest seems to have some merit!
