Damn Right it was. Great Lines all day and lift lines were minimal considering every local was off work/out of school it seemed like. Great way to end my week here. Definetly earned my cookies today, lol.

Hope everyone else enjoys the weekend. I'll be back for one last week at the end of March with the family so plan accordingly as this season my 2 trips have brought some great powder days(the past 2 days and I was also here on Dec 20 when BC got pounded all day and it was great).

No surprise here:

Due to the new snow, CDOT is anticipating extremely heavy traffic as people head to our ski areas. Expect slow traffic and heavy volume. CDOT encourages you to "Change your Peak" and travel outside of the heaviest travel times. Reported Time: January 31st, 2014 at 2:41 PM

Any suggestions on how to avoid it? What time is early enough to leave to get to the slopes? When should you get out of there to not suffer on the way home? Thanks

You're coming from the Springs? Depending on exactly where down there, you better be leaving no later than 5am. Might wanna shoot for 4:30. Leave? Probably by 1:00, maybe 1:30. 2:00 and you're fucked. Based on what I saw today, tomorrow is gonna be a complete shitshow. It's gonna be worth it, but you gotta play it right.

Sunday might be a weird day. Lots of people up in the am and everyone probably leaving by 12-1 to get back for the game. Leaving at 4 might actually benefit you, lol yeah right.

I predict rampant butthurt as people sit in a parking lot that was once I-70 during the time in which they planned to watch the Super Bowl.

And the Countdown begins! 26 more days until our 12 day trip!

Hitting Vail on the way out, Stop at PowderHorn by Grand Junction (Awesome little resort!) then off to Utah! We plan on going to Steamboat on the way back.

Hopefully you guys keep getting hit with snow!

Who else has hit Powderhorn? I keep hearing good things for how small it is and I've contemplated hitting it on my way to Utah.

Its pretty awesome if you love trees. Lifts are slow as fuck though. Just make sure you go after they get snow otherwise it ices up pretty quick.
