Yeah man, the were in full nazi mode too.... I went bowling ball style through about 40 of them blocking a catTrack to get on a lift(Pete's in bluesky), lucky for them some of them heard me yelling at them to get the fuck out of the way..... The through traffic cheered me on, the women and children hid and the dads gave me dirty looks as I flipped them off on the pass.

Here is the video. apparently everything I shot after this was in full zoom so it looks fucked up.... oh well. This was just rolling into dragons teeth in china bowl. The stuff that looks chunky is actually pretty damn soft, no crust under it in most places.

Fantastic day today. The morning was absolutely great snow. Exposed shit got heavy and chunky quick in the afternoon, but the trees were still fun.

South facing and exposed = crusty mashed potatoes
North facing/trees = soft awesomeness

Great day overall at Winter Park. Bert looked pretty damn crowded today.

Tons of people at Bert. Had a lot of avalanche testers in the alpine. I am about ready to venture into some of those zones. Should be great once I am back in the state in two weeks.

Someone did Mines 1 and got away with it. I don't know what thought process led them to believe it was a good idea. Mines 1&2 are the two most high consequence lines on the pass imo. If they slide and you get caught you are dead. Airbag, avalung, beacon, shovel, probe, doesn't matter, dead. Glad they got away with it but damn. They would have to have been dug out late spring otherwise.

Some folks live to do things where failure means death. Pretty selfish though, if you ask me.

Yesterday was perfect. Left my place at 5:45AM and got past Silver Plume just before they closed it. 4 cars crashed right in front of me, but I was able to get around them. I'm thinking that might have been what caused the closure. 70 was icy as hell on that section. Got up to Keystone at 7:30 and had very minimal waits at the lifts for the entire day and awesome conditions. Left at 3:00 and didn't touch my brakes once on the drive home. That's about as good of a day as you can get when coming from Denver on a weekend.

Hoping the snow holds up for the next few days. Headed to Vail Monday-Thursday.

TBH, I don't think they had any clue as to what they were getting into. It is a very sweet line, but there is a reason I haven't touched it in 8 years.
